Aspirational Block programme: DC Rajouri for early completion of identification
Rajouri : District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh on Wednesday chaired a meeting with the concerned officers in connection with the identification of the Aspirational Blocks in the district.
The DDC said that Aspirational Blocks is an initiative of the Government to take development to the grassroots level.
“The government has started the process for identifying most aspirational blocks in the districts. A set of special initiatives has been planned to be implemented in these blocks on the lines of aspirational districts programme.,” he added
He said there are 21 key indicators under four basic categories – Poverty, Health and Nutrition, Education and Basic Infrastructure as criteria for selection of the Aspirational Blocks. The chart of indicators has been communicated to districts for furnishing information.
He asked the concerned officers from RDD, Health, Education, PDD and PMGSY to provide the required details with respect to all the 21 indicators of the four mentioned basic categories of every block of the district within shortest possible time so that the same can be conveyed to the concerned authorities for necessary action at their end.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Shama-Un Ahmed; Assistant Commissioner Development, Sushil Khajuria; District Panchayat Officer, Dr Abdul Khabir; Chief Medical Officer, Dr.Sanjeev Puri; Executive Engineer EM&RE Rajouri, Munshi Khan; Executive Engineer PMGSY Rajouri, Subash Chander; Executive Engineer PMGSY Budhal, Mehmood Ahmed; a concerned officer from Education Department and Assistant Director FCS&CA, Mukhtar Ahmed Lone.
