Assistance to people in distress by DLSA Kupwara

Kupwara: Principal District Judge/Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Kupwara Tasleem Arif today called a meeting with District Magistrate/Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara Imam Din to discuss the importance of coordinated effort in tackling with COVID-19 pandemic.

The Chairman, District Legal Services Authority highlighted the role of Help Desk of District Legal Services Authority Kupwara and stressed upon the District Magistrate to render full cooperation with the resolution of distress calls received on the helpline of District Legal Services Authority. The vaccination of Jail inmates, food distribution and availability of critical medicines was also stressed to be ensured.

District Magistrate, Kupwara assured full cooperation from District Administration and highlighted that a coordinated effort is need of the hour. He assured to nominate an administrative officer as nodal officer for attending to the distress calls of the District Legal Services Authority help desk and further directed vaccinations of all jail inmates on priority.

District Magistrate Kupwara also assured free ration for two months and ample stock of food and medicines in Kupwara.

In the meeting the uninhibited movement of Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) attending distress calls was assured by the administration and District

Magistrate assured all subordinate officers of administration to attend calls from the help desk and render full cooperation.

The meeting was also attended by Secretary District Legal Services Authority, Muzamil Wani, Chief Planning Officer and Executive Engineer PWD and other concerned.
