With a special focus on Hyderabad’s urban transformation journey, the event highlighted the city’s alignment with broader sustainable urbanization efforts across India.
In the inaugural session, Sri Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy, Hon’ble Minister for Roads & Buildings and Cinematography, Government of Telangana, underscored the vital role of connectivity in urban development. He stated, “Efficient transportation networks are the arteries of our urban centres.” The Minister emphasized that significant investments will be made to expand metro rail systems, improve road networks, and modernize public transportation. The summit also featured discussions on Telangana’s newly launched ‘SPEED’ initiative, led by Hon’ble Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy, which aims to complete 19 major projects. These include the Musi Riverfront development, modeled after the Thames River project, expansion of satellite towns, new airports, and metro rail extensions.
