Program held by L’Oréal with partnership of UNESCO and ABC receives works until May 8

The ‘Mulheres na ciência’ (For Women in Science) program is still open for registrations in Brazil. The Brazilian edition of the program is being held for 15 years by L´Oréal with the partnership of UNESCO in Brazil and the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (ABC). Registrations will be accepted until May 8 and the winners will be announced in August.

The award aims to promote and recognize the participation of women in science, favoring gender balance in the Brazilian scenario. Every year, seven young researchers in the areas of Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, and Mathematics are awarded a grant of R$ 50,000 each, to continue their studies. Over these 15 years, “Para Mulheres na Ciência” has encouraged 96 Brazilian scientists, rewarding the relevance of their work, with the distribution of more than R$ 4.2 million in aid grants.

To participate, the candidates must meet some requirements, such as having completed the doctorate from 01/01/2013, have a permanent residence in Brazil, and have developed research projects in national institutions.
