Aston University’s Efforts in Reducing Inequalities Rank 24th Internationally
Aston University has been ranked for the first time ever in the latest Times Higher Education (THE) Impact World Rankings, being ranked overall 301-400 in the world (out of 1,963 ranked institutions).
THE’s Impact World Rankings measure universities’ contributions to the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and assesses their commitment to sustainability across the four broad areas of research, stewardship, outreach and teaching.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), adopted by all United Nations member states in 2015, are a call to action to end poverty and inequality, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy health, justice and prosperity. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development sets out 17 Goals, which offer a comprehensive vision for sustainable development.
The University has been ranked joint 24th in the world and 13th in the UK of ranked institutions for SDG goal 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
It has also been placed in the top 20% of global universities and joint 19th of ranked institutions in the UK for SDG goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).
