Aston University’s Professional Development Program Earns QS Reimagine Education Award Nomination
Aston University’s professional development programme which embeds employability at the heart of academic programmes has been shortlisted for the Innovation in Business Education Award at the QS Reimagine Education Awards 2023.
The Aston Global Advantage is the University’s professional development programme and an integrated module that runs throughout all of its postgraduate courses in business and law.
The programme equips students with transferable skills and relevant experiences for the workplace, giving them a competitive edge in the job market, or for when starting a business. Flexible and personalised, the programme can be tailored to their career aspirations, development needs or existing professional experience.
All activities included in the module are based on a “learning by doing” approach which seeks to replicate situations encountered in a professional setting with an emphasis on responsible management and developing a sustainability mindset.
Teaching methods include workshops, simulations, live laboratory settings, industry training, a business clinic and virtual internships, as well as a business challenge set by an external organisation.
The recognition comes after a rigorous evaluation process, where AGA emerged as one of the top projects, securing a spot among the top 30% from a pool of over 1200 submissions across 17 categories.
The Reimagine Education Awards, now in its 10th year, is renowned for its competitive selection process, involving assessments by over 600 international experts.
Professor Aleks Subic, Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive of Aston University, said:
“I am delighted to see Aston University shortlisted for the Innovation in Business Education Award by QS Reimagine Education.
“At Aston, we are committed to providing our students with the skills and support needed to enhance their lifelong career potential and to ensuring that they succeed in work and life.
“This recognition validates our ongoing efforts to position our graduates for success and enable them to make a positive impact in their careers from day one.”
This achievement builds on a series of recent accolades, including being shortlisted for THE Business School of the Year and securing the Runner Up position for Employability in the Sunday Times rankings, among others.
The winners will be announced at the awards conference which will take place between 11 and 13 December in Abu Dhabi and online.
