Australia India Business Exchange (AIBX) program showcases Australia’s EdTech capabilities

A 3-day Study Australia virtual showcase brought together leading Australian Institutions and EdTech companies

 

Hyderabad: The Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) successfully organised the Study Australia Virtual Education Showcase under the Australian Government’s Australia India Business Exchange (AIBX) program. The virtual showcase brought together leading Australian Institutions and Australian EdTech companies to showcase their capabilities in online education and education technology.

The 3-day showcase started with a welcome address by Ms Catherine Gallagher, Minister – Commercial, Australian High Commission New Delhi and Head of Australian Trade and Investment Commission – South Asia. The Hon Barry O’Farrell AO, Australia’s High Commissioner to India delivered the keynote address on “Australia’s Road Ahead”.

During the panel discussion, eminent speakers from Australia and India deliberated on how Universities have embraced COVID challenges, the Digital Transformation in Higher Education with best practice examples of technological development through collaboration, the Future of Learning and the EdTech ecosystem of India and Australia.

The showcase offered students, schools, institutions, EdTech companies and entrepreneurs a platform to discuss, deliberate and explore best practice and solutions for digital education. The three-day program included a mix of panel discussions, masterclasses, one-on-one discussions, product demos from Australian EdTech providers and virtual booths.

The Australian Trade and Investment Commission in partnership with EduGrowth launched the Australian EdTech Directory in South Asia– the authoritative source of information about Australian EdTech companies – https://australianedtech.com.au/

Speaking at the occasion Dr Monica Kennedy, Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner, Australian Trade and Investment Commission, said, “Australia is one of the most sought-after higher education destinations globally and offers a wide range of opportunities for students. Australian EdTech Companies are well-known building innovative education products or services using technology. 42 per cent of Australian EdTech companies are focused on the kindergarten to year 12 schools sector. This is followed by almost a quarter in the higher education sector, then workforce at 18 per cent followed by the vocational sector at 17 per cent, and 25 per cent of Australia’s EdTech companies have been founded by, or are led by women”.

Study Australia Virtual Education Showcase program provided a platform for students and academia from India to explore the academic opportunities in Australia and understand the dynamic EdTech space. Through this program, we wanted to apprise aspiring students about Australian capabilities and provide them with an opportunity to seek the very best higher education opportunities” said Dr Kennedy.

As a part of the Virtual Education Showcase, the Australian Trade and Investment Commission’s Digital Education Hub launched a new and free Work Readiness Micro-credential course for international students. Designed to assist in improving employability, the course provides tailored tools and resources to students and graduates to successfully navigate the competitive job market in Australia and globally. Developed in partnership with an Australian EdTech company Successful Graduate, the Work Readiness Micro-credential course is available for free to all international students, graduates/current and prospective; onshore and offshore.
