Avery Dennison awards the winners of ‘Spirit of Invention’ Scholarship Program 2021

 

Delhi: Avery Dennison Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Avery Dennison Corporation today felicitated the winners of the 9th edition of its annual scholarship program ‘Spirit of Invention’ (InvEnt). With the objective of supporting leadership and innovation and nurture young talent in students studying in the fields of science, engineering & technology, Avery Dennison awarded 15 scholars with a scholarship of US$ 1300 each in a virtual award ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Alicia Procello, President, Avery Dennison Foundation said, “As a responsible brand, we are committed to foster the development of talent, nurture creativity and inspire young students to engage in the spirit of invention. We also take great pride in creating an inclusive and supportive platform for students to encourage innovation and pursue their dreams”. We congratulate the winners for demonstrating a high level of innovation and will continue to expand our support and make a difference to the communities that we live in”.

Mr. Saurabh Agarwal, Senior Director & General Manager, LPM – South Asia, Avery Dennison added, “It is heartening to see that Avery Dennison is continuing this initiative year on year and providing an opportunity for bright young students to widen their horizons and pursue their passion. I applaud the scholarship winners and wish them the best for their educational pursuits. Through this initiative, we will continue to actively support leadership and innovation development among students”.

Each year, Avery Dennison Foundation in association with Institute of International Education (IIE), honours 10-15 Indian students belonging to 5 premier institutes with scholarship to encourage and support leadership & innovation development amongst them. These students also get an opportunity to participate in a special workshop on invention & innovation conducted by the Avery Dennison Foundation.

The five premier institutes include:

· Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bengaluru

· BITS pilani

· National Institute of Technology, Trichy

· MKSSS Cummins College of Women

· Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW)

Started in India in 2012, the winners under the Avery Dennison Foundation Spirit of Invention (InvEnt) Scholarship Programme are selected through a merit-based, rigorous three-stage selection process. It is the ninth edition of the awards and a total of 95 scholarships to date, have been given.
