New Delhi: Speaking at the Indo-Canadian Business Chamber (ICBC) hosted a Webinar on Cyber Resilience and Cyber Security- it’s third of a continuing series, Vishal Vasu, Director and CTO, Dev Information Technology Limited (Dev IT), one of India’s leading IT Infrastructure service providers, stressed, “Aware people are your best defense against Cyber threats in a post COVID world”.
Mr Vasu made the comments while outlining a detailed process for IT organizations across the country, “particularly in the Non-IT sector”, which if executed well would help impact business continuity favourably and seamlessly.
Mr Krishnanad Bhat, Chief Information Security Advisor (CISA), Nexdigm, introduced the topic to the close to 100 attendees comprising of stakeholders of the Indo-Canada business corridor, besides taking their questions.
Ms Nadira Hamid, CEO-ICBC, moderated the webinar.
Among the steps called out specifically by Mr Vasu, was the need to enhance Cloud Security, VPN encryptions and multi-factor authentication. “It is a misnomer that moving to the cloud is automatically secure”, he warned.
Commenting on the controversy around Zoom, a conferencing app, Mr Bhat said, “In fact, there are large organizations who even validate Zoom before employee usage. However, those can be high-cost investments. A low-cost investment would be employee awareness, training and communicating.”
Mr Bhat also asked organizations to be more aware of insider threat in these times and batted for Cyber Insurance on which he said, “It is still not too late to get a cyber insurance cover. There are some really good products which cover everything from data breaches to litigation and they are not very expensive products”.
