Awareness camp for fruit growers held at Ukhral
Ramban: Department of Horticulture, Ramban today conducted an awareness Camp for farmers at village Pogal of Block Ukhral today under PMKSY to sensitize them about various schemes.
The camp was presided over by the BDC Chairman Ukhral, Karleep Singh in the presence of Sarpanches and Panches.
Speaking on the occasion, the BDC Chairman exhorted upon the participants to avail maximum benefits from the CSS and state sector schemes of the Horticulture Department.
He also distributed 1200 walnut fruit plants among the participants and asked them to plant these as per the guidelines of the department.
During camp the District Level Subject Matter Specialist, Pardeep Gupta discussed all the departmental schemes in detail besides sensitizing farmers about new techniques of horticulture farming which would help them to enhance their income.
He also sought suggestions from farmers for providing hassle free services to them besides addressing their complaints and grievances on-spot in an effective manner.
In their address PRIs highlighted the role of the Horticulture Department in scaling up the production and marketing. They asked the officers to organize such awareness camps at panchyat level.
The Camp was organized under the aegis of Chief Horticulture Officer, Vaishno Kant Gupta.
