Awareness Camp on Labour Laws, Govt Welfare Schemes & Child Labour held at Baramulla

 

BARAMULLA : In a bid to sensitise people regarding Labour Laws, Child Labour and different welfare schemes, Labour Department Baramulla in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Baramulla today organized a day long awareness camp at Employment Exchange office, here.

Secretary, DLSA Baramulla, Fariqa Nazir was the chief guest on the occasion.

The speakers threw light on Labour Laws, Child Labour and different government welfare schemes being implemented in the district.

At the outset, Assistant Labour Commissioner Baramulla briefed about various privileges and welfare schemes for labourers available under the labour laws for registered workers and advised them to avail the benefits of these Welfare schemes.

She said that Labour department is keen on effective implementation of labour laws in the district to ensure proper percolation of benefits to the beneficiaries.

Secretary DLSA while addressing the gathering threw light on various government schemes and said that Government Schemes in India are launched by the government to address the social and economic welfare of the labour force.

She also highlighted the hazards of the child labour and urged upon the participants to raise consciousness of public about the exploitation of innocent young minds, who are subjected to inhuman treatment at a very tender age

The chief guest further said that this programme is part of a series of awareness camps that DLSA Baramulla has scheduled to organise across the district to create awareness about labour laws, Child labour among all the concerned stakeholders and the welfare schemes being provided among the beneficiaries.

Among others, Contractors, Social Workers, Trade union members and Para Legal Volunteers participated in the event.
