Awareness campaign on Nasha Mukth Bharat held at Chowkian Rajouri
RAJOURI : As a part of Gram Swaraj Month, the Department of Social welfare Rajouri, under the direction of Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, today organized a Nasha Mukti (De-addiction) and Education Awareness camp at Panchayat Chokwain.
The team of District Social Welfare officer Rajouri explained to the audience the gist of intoxication and its effects on the human mind & body.
They spoke about, how in this contemporary world, a man for his corporeal satisfaction, falls for an abhorrent and dangerous lifestyle like addiction to intoxicants in the desire to acquire some peace of mind, to escape worldly troubles, to get an ecstatic feeling or to get rid of social embarrassment. This leads people to the use of drugs.
Nasha or in layman’s language – drunkenness, inebriation or intoxication is an impermanent state resulting from excessive consumption of alcohol, all types of alcohol products like country liquor, beer, wine, laththa; products like bidi, cigarettes, mava, tobacco chewing, snuff and Drugs consists of Opium, Marijuana, Cocaine, Charas, Ganja, Bhang, Brown Sugar and so on.
An elaborate discussion on the evil effects of addiction on the human body was also held.
The team also motivated the participants to spread the word of knowledge whenever possible and let everyone put best efforts to end this menace.
The District Social Welfare Officer underlined that eradication of the menace of drugs from society was the collective responsibility of all.
The DSW Rajouri under the supervision of Commissioner Secretary and DDC Rajouri has been organising special awareness camps in connection with the drug menace so that the target group could be sensitized.
