Awareness Drive and Inter-school Quiz Held on Global Hand Hygiene Day

 

Aligarh : The Hospital Infection Society-India (HISI), Aligarh Chapter, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital (JNMCH), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organised an awareness drive for healthcare workers and community people, to mark the Global Hand Hygiene Day.

The volunteers marched through the college and hospital premises imparting the correct steps of hand washing. More than 800 individuals performed hand hygiene on the occasion.

An inter-school quiz competition was also organised for the first time in the Jawaharlal Nehru
Medical College, on the theme of “hand hygiene and infection prevention”. More than 60
enthusiastic students from different schools of Aligarh participated in the quiz.

Professor Rakesh Bhargava, Principal and Chief Medical Superintendent, JNMCH welcomed the participants.

After a round of ice-breaking sessions, the quiz “QUISANITIA” was conducted by Quizmaster Dr Fatima Khan.

Ebtehaj Darain Azka and Suyash from Our Lady of Fatima Senior Secondary School were declared as winners, while Hadi Ahmad and Affan Danish from Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh AMU City School, and Shara Rizvi and Aliza Jawed from Our Lady of Fatima Senior Secondary School were the 1st and 2nd runner-ups respectively.

Prof Veena Maheshwari (Dean, Faculty of Medicine) and Prof Haris M Khan (President, HISI, Aligarh Chapter and Medical Superintendent, JNMCH) congratulated the winners and participants and distributed prizes among them.

The programme was coordinated by Adnan, Hansika, Hilal, Nosheen and Prakhar of MBBS 2020 batch.
