Awareness event held in Health Block Kandi to mark National Vaccination Day
RAJOURI : To raise awareness about the importance of the vaccine for human wellness, the health block Kandi today organised an awareness program to mark National Vaccination Day.
The event was organised on the instructions of Director Health Services Jammu, Dr Saleem Ur Rahman and Chief Medical Officer Rajouri, Dr Shamim Bhatti.
ADC Kotranka, Surinder Mohan Sharma was the chief guest at the event.
National Vaccination Day (also known as National Immunisation Day (IMD)) is observed on March 16 every year to convey the importance of vaccination to the entire nation. The theme of the day this year is “Vaccines Work for all”.
In his address, the ADC threw light on the importance of the vaccine for strengthening the human body to fight a specific disease. He said vaccines are the most effective tool to prevent deadly diseases.
BMO Kandi, Dr Iqbal Malik applauded the health workers for their achievements in vaccination including COVID-19 vaccine.
Best performing health workers were also felicitated with awards by ADC Kotranka and BMO Kandi.
The recipients of the award were Mohammad Ayoub (CHO Kandi), Royala Bhat(FMPHW Budhal), Shaneeza Akhter(ASHA U.Kandi) and Naseem Akhter (ASHA Jamola).
The ASHAs had also received awards from LG J&K and appreciation by the Union Health Minister of India for their extraordinary efforts.
Dr Sahil Dutta, Medical Officer, also spoke on the occasion and stressed on the importance of vaccination for children. Mohd Ayoub Lone, CHO Kandi presented the vote of thanks.
