Awareness program on Child rights organised by ICPS Kishtwar
KISHTWAR : On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Ashok Kumar and under the supervision of District Child Protection Officer, Tariq Parvez Qazi, the department of Integrated Child Protection Services (ICPS) organized an awareness program on Child Rights and Child helpline 1098 in Government Middle School Bagwan Mohalla, here today.
The programme aimed to create awareness among students, NGO and social workers about Child helpline and child rights and to discuss the role of District Child Protection Unit, Child Welfare Committee and Juvenile Justice Board.
Touseef Iqbal Butt (Protection Officer-Non Institutional Care) and Deepika Bandari (Protection Officer- Institutional Care) spoke on the Child Rights and Child abuse.
An interactive session with students, teachers and officials from ICPS department was also held which was highly appreciated by the School Headmaster Shabir Hussain. The students were told that the purpose of this programme was to create awareness about the functioning of ICPS. They were told that ICPS works for children in need of care and protection and Children in conflict with law.
Others who were present included Basharat Nazir (LCPO), Saima Kousar and Meenakshi Sharma Social Workers.
