Awareness programme on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan-2020 organised in Anantnag

Anantnag : District Administration Anantnag today organised an awareness programme regarding Nasha Mukt Bharat titled “Sensitization on promoting healthy life style, media campaign and awareness programme on suicide risk among addicts” here.
District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, K.K Sidha on the occasion said that the need of the hour is to have a collective approach to get rid of the drug menace.
He added that a mass campaigning has to be launched through various educational and health institutions, NGOs, Religious organizations and at individual level to create mass awareness about the drug abuse, its effects on society and remedial measures, adding that the administration, police and civil society have to work neck to neck to eradicate the menace of drugs from the district.
Experts from Judiciary, Social Welfare, Health, Education, Police, volunteers and students also discussed various causes behind drug addiction, its effects, drug trafficking and remedies to put an end to the menace of drugs.
The speakers included Secretary DLSA, District Social Welfare Officer Anantnag Rafia Khaki, SP Operations, DEPO Anantnag and Doctors from Drug De addiction Centre Anantnag.
The participants were awarded with medals and mementos.
