Awareness programme on women empowerment held at Budgam

BUDGAM : The District Hub For Empowerment Of Women Budgam today organized an awareness programme to educate rural women regarding various women centric schemes and also make them aware about their Rights at BDO Office Block Soibugh Budgam.

The programme was organized under the guidance of District Social Welfare Officer Budgam, Dr. Syed Farhana Asgar and in collaboration with Special Cell for Women.

The programme was attended by Panches, Sarpanches, Anganwadi Workers and local women.

The Women Welfare Officer gave a brief introduction about objectives of DHEW-MSK and discussed the various schemes specially for women which are currently in vogue in the Department of Social Welfare viz. One Stop Centre (SAKHI), ICPS, Women helpline 181, DHEW-MSK, etc.

District Coordinator Budgam raised an awareness on various Employment generation programmes like JKEDI, PMEGP, Tajeswani etc. Besides, a Social worker from Special cell for women threw light on the role of the Cell (a project by National Commission for Women) and stressed on Domestic violence and its types.

At the end of the programme, DHEW-MSK team noted the grievances of the women and assured them to provide help as soon as possible.
