Bandipora : As part of ongoing Road Safety month, the District Administration Bandipora today organised a road rally to create awareness among masses about road safety rules.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad flagged off the rally from Mini-Secretariat.
Scores of students from different schools of the district participated in the rally. The marching students carried placards and banners appealing to the people to follow traffic rules, avoid accidents, wear helmets while riding motorcycles, and avoid jumping signals and over speeding, etc.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the aim of organising the rally is to spread awareness about traffic rules and the importance of following rules in day-to-day lives. He urged students to act as ambassadors of road safety and help in creating awareness regarding strict adherence to road safety rules.
Meanwhile, a series of programmes are scheduled to mark the month with promotional materials including banners, safety posters etc.
