AYUDH holds meditation sessions for over 1,200 college students in Delhi-NCR
New Delhi: A team from AYUDH India, an international youth movement by Mata Amritanandamayi Math aimed at empowering the modern youth, has organized motivational meditation sessions for more than 1,200 college students in Delhi-NCR. The participating students hailed from the Indian Institute of Mass Communications, the FORE School of Management, Miranda House College, Manav Rachna University and Lingaya’s Vidyapeeth in Delhi, Gurgaon and Faridabad. These sessions are being held throughout the country as a precursor to India’s biggest ‘Leadership Training Summit’ for the youth to be held from December 22-25 in Kollam, Kerala. More than a thousand youngsters are expected to attend the mega-event being organized by AYUDH (Amrita Yuva Dharma Dhara), the youth wing of Mata Amritanandamayi Math.
“During the motivational sessions in Delhi-NCR, we tried to inspire the youth to unleash their inner potential. We also touched upon some burning issues that today’s youth are facing like drug abuse, environmental protection, gender equality, etc. It was a very lively and interactive fun-filled session, followed by meditation. Contrary to popular belief, we have seen that today’s youth love meditation. They are more and more coming to realize its importance,” said Mr. Amit and Mr. Chandrashekhar.
Three teams from AYUDH have been travelling for the last three months across India and offering motivational sessions for the youth in reputed academic institutions. This team (Mr. Amit, Mr. Chandrashekhar, Mr. Krishna, Mr. Vivek, Mr. Sumit and Ms. Bharti) has covered almost 40 reputed schools and colleges in seven states of India till now. The trainers have interacted with more than 9,000 youth, including Andhra Pradesh (1500 students), Telangana (2500), Jharkhand (1500), Bihar (200), Uttar Pradesh (900), Uttarakhand (1200).
Some of the institutions the team visited include names like (1) KL University, SRM, PVP Sidhhartha, VR Sidhhartha, and Gitam University in Andhra Pradesh, (2) IIM Ranchi, BITS Mesra, and Ranchi university in Jharkhand, (3) RK College in Bihar, (4) GLA University and Bon Maharaj in Uttar Pradesh, (5) Uttaranchal university, Graphic Era University, Beehive college in Uttarakhand, (6) Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Fore School of Management, Miranda House Girls College, Manav Rachna University and Lingaya’s Vidyapeeth in Delhi-NCR, and (7) CBIT, GNITS, CMR Technical, Gitam university, Aurora institutions, Central University Hyderabad, Srinidhi Engineering College in Telangana.
Prominent leaders from various walks of life and different parts of the world will be giving a talk at the Leadership Training Summit in December. They will share real-life stories of their successes and failures with the youth. There will also be leadership workshops and fun-filled activities across four days. Youth in the age group 15 to 35 years are eligible to participate in this national summit that is being organized by the Mata Amritanandamayi Math.
Said an AYUDH spokesperson: “The idea is to motivate and provide maximum positive exposure to today’s youth so that their innate talents and abilities are ignited. We also want them to be part of this international movement of AYUDH so that we can all serve this country and humanity at large. Last year, we had about 700 attendees from all over India and this year we are planning to bring more than a thousand budding leaders from across the country on this common platform. As a prominent highlight of this event, the young attendees will also get a chance to meet with our Chancellor and humanitarian leader, Mata Amritanandamyi Devi (also fondly known as Amma) and listen to her words of wisdom.”
