AYUSH Department Reasi hosts Webinar to mark 7th International Yoga Day
Reasi: AYUSH Department Reasi today hosted a Webinar on Yoga to mark the 7th International Yoga Day here in collaboration with Government Degree College Reasi.
The online event was held under the guidance of Director Indian Systems of Medicine (AYUSH) J&K Dr. Mohan Singh and supervision of AYUSH Nodal Officer Reasi, Dr. Ravinder Pandita.
The webinar titled “ Yoga and Life Management Skills” as a part of the celebration of 7th International Yoga Day.
As the current year theme of International Yoga Day is “ Be with Yoga,Be at Home” due to the ongoing pandemic, the Ministry of AYUSH has issued guidelines to organize most of the Yoga Programs through virtual mode.
Under this theme, a virtual session in the form of a webinar was organized. Dr. Arun Gupta, gave a detailed presentation on life management skills and said that these are inherently part of various yogic practices. He briefed about the role of eight limbs of Yoga in managing the day to day crisis effectively and creating more mindful and aware younger generations.
Moreover, Dr. Gupta also briefed about career opportunities in the field of Yoga and wellness, an initiative of the Ministry of AYUSH and urged the youth to enroll in the Yoga volunteer certificate course of Ministry of AYUSH.
The webinar was attended by college students from various streams, faculty members of the college and officials of ISM Reasi.
The webinar was moderated by Dr. Amit Bali, NSS Program Officer GDC Reasi. Dr. Chandershekhar Gupta, Principal GDC, Reasi under whose co-patronage the event was conducted, appreciated the initiative of AYUSH Department Reasi and emphasized the need of such programs to guide the youth about Yoga and its potential in making healthier life choices. He also presented the vote of thanks at the end of the program.
