Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav: DC Rajouri flags-off Satyagraha se Swachhagraha Rath Yatra

RAJOURI : Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today flagged off Satyagrah se Swachhagraha Rath Yatra under Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin Phase-2.

The event was organised under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations and flagged off in presence of ADDC, Pawan Kumar; ADC Rajouri, Sachin Dev Singh; ACD, Sushil Khajuria; ACP, Mohammad Rashid Kohli and DSEO, Bilal Rashid Mir.

Pertinently, the SBM Phase-II emphasises the sustainability of achievements under phase I and to provide adequate facilities for Solid/Liquid & plastic Waste Management (SLWM) in rural India.

The DC highlighted the purpose of the Rath Yatra and said that it aims at promotion of Swachh Bharat Mission and accelerate the efforts to achieve sanitation coverage and also to focus on cleanliness.

He said that the Rath-awareness van would cover all the Panchayats to spread awareness regarding the importance of cleanliness and Solid Waste Management.

Stating the role of public in the successful implementation of SBM Phase-II to achieve Gandhi’s dream of cleanliness is inevitable, he exhorted upon the people and all the stakeholders to make cleanliness a mass campaign in the district so that the purpose of the Rath Yatra could be achieved in letter and spirit.
