Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav: Musical program ‘Ek Sham Shaheedon Ke Naam’ organized at Rajouri

DC hails selfless services of martyrs

 

RAJOURI : To commemorate the valour and supreme sacrifices of martyrs, a musical programme ‘Ek Sham Shaheedon Ke Naam’ was today organized here in the lawns of Zila Sainik Welfare Office Rajouri.

The program was organized by the District Administration Rajouri in collaboration with the Zila Sainik Welfare Board under the aegis of the ongoing Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan was the Chief Guest.

Among the others, ADDC, Pawan Kumar; ZSWO, Javed Mir; Administrator OSC, Nitu Sharma besides Ex Servicemen; Veer Naris attended the program.

A series of diverse and colorful patriotic songs were presented by the artists. The audience lauded the presentation by the artists and complimented them for their dedication for contributing in the field of culture.

The DC felicitated the youth who contributed towards the armed forces Flag fund. He also felicitated the artists for their wonderful performance at the event.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner said that the District Administration is working with a vision and multi-pronged strategy to promote cultural heritage and increase tourist footfall in the district.

Praising the selfless service of soldiers, he said the courage, valor and dedication of the security personnel in protecting the honour of Mother India is unparalleled.

He said that the sacrifices of the martyrs for safeguarding the nation from internal and external threats needs to be remembered and propagated as it inculcates a sense of belonging and patriotism among the country men.

Informing about a number of measures being taken to strengthen the Zila Sainik Welfare Board, the DC said that an online grievance redress mechanism has been developed for the connivance of Ex-servicemen .

The DC also lauded the Zila Sainik Welfare Board for its tireless efforts towards the betterment of the Ex-servicemen community in the district.

The DC urged the Ex-servicemen to keep working with the same zeal for the welfare of the society and assured full support from the District Administration in this regard.

“More than twelve thousand ex-servicemen have been registered with the Zila Sainik Welfare Board”, he informed.

He also appealed to the Ex-servicemen to keep a close eye on the developmental works being carried out in their areas.

He further urged the Ex servicemen to motivate their children to avail the benefits of the self employment generation schemes being implemented by different departments in the district.

The DC also wished to spend time with the Ex Servicemen to get the firsthand appraisal of working of the Zila Sainik Welfare Board and to take stock of the grievances of the Ex Servicemen fraternity.
