Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav observations
Aligarh: Dr Umme Maria won the essay writing competition held to mark the nation-wide Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, celebrations of the 75 years of Indian Independence by the Department of Anaesthesiology, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University.
Dr Shruti Shandilya and Dr Harsha Gautam secured the second position and third positions respectively; while Dr Mehvish Anees and Krishna Kumar Sahu shared the consolation prize.
In the seminar organised before the essay contest, Prof Qazi Ehsan Ali (Chairman, Department of Anaesthesiology) said that freedom has been achieved through the untiring efforts and sacrifices of the great freedom fighters.
He added that with this celebration, the country will remember all the important milestones and important times during the freedom movement besides gaining a new energy for the development of the future.
Dr Manazir Athar spoke on the importance of building a new ‘Aatmnirbhar’ (Self-Reliant) India.
Dr Aftab Hussain highlighted the historical aspects of freedom struggle and its role in present scenario.
Dr Nazia Tauheed coordinated the event.
