Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav: Labour Department Udhampur celebrates pension week


UDHAMPUR : As part of the celebration of “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav,” Labour Department Udhampur on Monday organized a function in collaboration with Beopar Mandal Udhampur to celebrate pension week/Pension Saptah.

The inaugural function was held in presence of BEOPAR Mandal President, Jitendra Vermani and the programme also chaired by Pradyot Gupta, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Udhampur.

Addressing the gathering, the ALC said that Government of India is operating Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-dhan Yojana (PM-SYM) pension scheme for the Unorganized Workers (UWs under section 3 (1) of Unorganized Workers Social Security Act, 2008 to provide old age protection to them. He emphasized on the saturation of Government’s social security schemes and stressed that the benefits of the pension schemes should be extended to each and every entitled person.

He stressed on giving wide publicity to the schemes through awareness programmes and organizing enrollment camps to mobilize the entitled beneficiaries for registration on self-mode at or through CSC.

President Beopar Mandal, Jitendra Vermani said that Unorganized Workers, BoCW Workers, SHG (Under NULM & NRLM) members, Domestic Workers, ASHA, ANM Aaganwadi Workers, Street Vendors, Rickshaw Pullers, Brick-Kiln Workers, Agricultural Labourers, MGNREGA Workers, Fisherman, Ayushman Bharat Beneficiaries and any other such workers should be mobilized to enroll under the pension scheme.

Rahul Magotra, Naveen Kumar, Vijay Kumar Sharma, Jatinder Kumar and Kamal Gupta were also present on the occasion.
