Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav Week Celebration Begins at GDC Doda

Doda: To celebrate Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the 75 years of India’s Independence, the week-long celebration began at Government Degree College, Doda under the patronage and guidance of Dr Shafqat Hussain Rafiqi, Principal of the college. The NSS and NCC (Naval and Infantry) units of the college are organizing this celebration in which series of online events based on patriotic theme shall be organized beginning from 7th to 13th August, 2021. The various events to be organized in this week-long schedule include poster making, poetry recitation, webinar, essay writing, quiz and story-telling on the life and teachings of great national heroes. In these series of events, slogan writing competition was organized on the first day of this mega celebration in which about 55 students of various semester participated from the college. The slogans were evaluated by Prof Akrity Parihar, Prof Purnima Manhas and Prof Zain Batt. The event was coordinated by Dr Sumit Kotwal, NSS Programme Officer, Dr Arjun Singh, CTO, NCC Infantry and Prof Zain Batt, CTO, NCC Naval Wing. The first, second and third prizes were won by Manakshi Katoch (Semester 4th), Nittu Devi (Semester 1st) and Ramida Banoo (Semester 2nd), respectively. The prizes will be awarded to the winners on the on the eve of Independence day.
