Azim Premji Foundation to offer career opportunities for Fresh Postgraduates, MPhils, PhDs and Engineers
Selected candidates will get an opportunity to build a career in the field of education in rural India
Bangalore, May 15, 2017: Azim Premji Foundation announces recruitment of 250 fresh Postgraduates, MPhils, PhDs and Engineers to join as Associates, leading to full-time positions in the organization. The Foundation has invited applications from students who have completed their course in 2016 or will be doing so in 2017. The purpose of the Associate Programme is to develop people who can contribute to improving the quality and equity in school education across the country. The last date for applying online is 26 May, 2017. The selection process would be a combination of written test and interviews.
Initially the Associates will be immersed in the realities of school education in rural India and will work closely with teachers to improve teaching practices, develop learning material for children and conduct research on issues related to classroom teaching-learning processes. The one-year programme will broadly consist of two components, teaching in a Govt. school and supporting teacher professional development programs. After the completion of one year, the Associate will continue to work on the professional development of teachers and head teachers in the Taluks (Blocks) of the districts where Azim Premji Foundation is engaged.
Aspirants with following qualifications can apply:
· (M.A. /M.Sc.) in Biology, Chemistry, English, Geography, Hindi, History, Kannada, Mathematics, Political Science, Physics or Tamil
· M. Phil. / Ph.D. in Sciences, Social Sciences or Languages
· Engineers (B. Tech / M. Tech) interested to work in Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics

This year, for the first time, we are extending the opportunity to Engineers as well”.
Proficiency in the local language is a must and candidates should be open to work at the Block level (Taluks) in the districts of Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Puducherry, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand.

Bangalore, Bhopal, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Dharwad, Dineshpur (Uddhamsinghnagar), Gulbarga, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mysore, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Srinagar(Garhwal) and Udaipur
Associates will receive a monthly gross salary of Rs.27,000. For M.Phil. /Ph.D. candidates the salary will be marginally higher and will be determined during the selection process.
