B2V-3: Scores of dev works inaugurated in Panchayats across Jammu District

Jammu: Scores of newly completed works were inaugurated and foundations stones of new projects laid today in the 113 Panchayats of six blocks of Jammu district amid Back to Village phase 3 activities.
On the day two the Panchayats of 6 blocks viz Satwari, Miran Sahib, Suchetgarh, R S Pura, Bishnah and Arnia were covered.
The visiting officers also assessed development requirements and listened to the people’s issues.
At Panchayat Tindey Kalan of Block Miran Sahib the visiting officer laid the foundation stone of the community bathroom and inspected ongoing and completed works under 14th FC and Back to village Phase 1 and 2.
A newly constructed lane was inaugurated and ongoing works of 14th FC were inspected at Panchayat Gazipur Kullian of Block Miran Sahib. The Sarpanch of the Panchayat informed that various development works have been completed in the Panchayat including establishment of cremation ground, burial ground, construction of lane and drain. He said a road to cremation ground at village Narhi identified during Back to Village phase 2 has also been completed.
The up-graded approach road from the main road to the Panchayat Khour of Block Miran Sahib, completed under B2V I and 14th FC, was also inaugurated by the visiting officer.
Panchayat Kotli Shah Dullah of Block Miran Sahib witnessed inauguration of newly constructed link road from main road to village Mehlowal, taken up under Back to village phase2 and completed at an estimated cost of 10 lakh. It was informed that out of total 7 works taken up under 14th FC, 4 have been completed and work on others is in progress.
Similarly, newly constructed nullahs identified under B2V-2 and other development works were also inaugurated at Panchayat Haripur of Block Suchetgarh.
Mansha Devi of village Haripur extended gratitude to the government for providing her assistance for construction of a Pacca house under PMAY scheme. She informed that her family faced a lot of problems during harsh climatic conditions while living in a mud house. “We were leading our life in inhuman conditions. The leaking roof of our house during rains would force us to take shelter in our neighbor’s house” she said.
MGNREGA job card holders Rajinder Kumar and Balkari Ram of village Haripur informed that after getting the Job cards they are getting the work easily and receiving regular payments, which has eased their life.
At Panchayat Chakrohi and Jajowal of Block Suchetgarh the visiting officers distributed sports kits including Bat, Pads, badminton, football, volleyball, carromboard, chess and other items among the youth of the villages.
