B2V-4: Administrator, Associated Hospitals, GMC Srinagar visits Keegam, Shopian
Provides Rs. 15.87 lakhs educational assistance to wards of Construction workers
SHOPIAN : Administrator, Associated Hospitals, GMC Srinagar, Hashmat Ali Yatoo today visited Panchayat Halqa Keegam Shopian to assess the developmental issues of the area under the ambitious Back to Village Programme.
On the occasion, the Administrator met DDC Members, PRIs and locals, interacted with them, listened to them patiently to take stock of their genuine issues pertaining to their respective areas.
During interactions, Yatoo said that the ‘Back to Village’ programme is an ambitious programme of the Govt to reach out to the people at their door steps and to ensure public ownership and public participation in local governance.
He sought feedback from the general public on the effectiveness of welfare schemes as well as other developmental activities being executed in their respective areas.
On this occasion, the Officers of various departments briefed about the benefits of various welfare schemes and other developmental activities of their departments for the awareness of the general public.
Earlier, the Visiting Officer made an inspection of stalls displayed by various departments which include, Sheep Husbandry, Animal Husbandry, Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Handicrafts and others so that locals can avail of the benefits of various centrally Sponsored and other welfare schemes.
DDC Members projected various issues and grievances of public importance during the programmes which were heard patiently by the Visiting Officer.
On the occasion, Rs.15.87 lakhs scholarships were also distributed as educational assistance to labour card holders through the Labour Department besides Land Passbooks by the Revenue Department were also distributed along with Golden Cards.
He also inspected the Anganwadi centre Keegam Shopian and checked the nutrition supply provided to the children.
Visiting Officer also checked PHC Centre Tukroo, interacted with Health Functionaries, enquired about basic amenities being provided to the patients and emphasised for providing better healthcare facilities to the patients. He also inspected the Drug store, Allopathic Dispensary, ECG Room, Gynae Section, Wards and other sections of PHC.
DDC, Member, Raja Waheed, Additional District Development Commissioner Shopian, Manzoor Hussain, Chief Medical Officer, Shopian, Arshad Hussain Tak, Chief Education Officer, ExEn R&B, Tehsildar, Keegam, BMO Shopian, BMO Keller and other officers were present on the occasion.
Students of Ranjoor Memorial Government Higher Secondary School Kegam presented a cultural programme.
