B2V-4: D.G Women & Child Development & Director, FCS&CA listen public issues; make visits in Panchayats of Sumbal
Shilvat, Shadipora, other villages of the district remain abuzz with activities, visits of officers
BANDIPORA : The Day six of Back to Village programme commenced today with great enthusiasm and response from the public in Bandipora, who took keen interest in this ambitious programme, and visiting officers across the district made whirlwind tours of villages to assess development scenarios.
Director General (DG) Women and Child Development J&K Tariq Ali and Director Food, Civil supplies and Consumer Affairs, Kashmir, Abdul Salam continued their second day public outreach engagements and listened to public issues at Rakhi Shilvat and Shadipora respectively.
The officers were on a two days visit to panchayat Halqa Rakhi Shilvat and Shadipora as visiting officers to assess the developmental needs under the B2V4 programme.
People at these two places raised various issues with regard to development of their villages before officers seeking their intervention for early redressal.
Shilvat and Shadipora remained abuzz with a slew of activities like extensive public interactions, registering of grievances of people about the implementation of various schemes, inspections of public utilities, development works, distribution of holding of awareness camps and other allied activities.
At Raki Shilvat, Tariq Ali made extensive visits to work sites, govt offices and reviewed functioning and spoke on the role of One Stop Centre in making better interventions in women upliftment.
He inspected the Health and Wellness center at Rakhi Shilvat and took stock of ongoing developmental works.
During an interaction with the PRIs and local people, he said that all the issues and demands were enlisted for proper projection before district and UT administration and assured early redressal of their demands. He asked people to remain in touch with the administration and provide adequate cooperation for the successful implementation of the various schemes.
At Shadipora, Director FCS&CAz Abdul Salam participated in the Gram Sabhas to formulate the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) and enlisted public demands and issues. He also visited educational institutions and ongoing developmental projects.
At Rakhi Shilvat and Shadipora exhaustive deliberations were held by the visiting officers and representatives of Panchayat Raj Institutions (PRIs) with the locals. During discussions, officers of various line departments created awareness among the participants about various schemes offered by the UT and central government in the field of skill development, entrepreneurship, health and other sectors.
Sports activities were also carried out in these Panchayats, including cricket, football and volleyball. Matches were inaugurated by visiting officers and the activities witnessed huge participation by the youth and senior citizens of these villages.
