B2V4- Day-05 Visiting officers listen to public grievances across Udhampur panchayats

UDHAMPUR : An overwhelming public response was witnessed on the day 5 of the ‘Back to village’ programme -fourth edition as the visiting officers conducted scheduled activities in different Panchayats of Udhampur District

The visiting officers along with the local officials organised Gram Panchayats, conducted inspection of public infrastructure, schools and departmental stalls; convened Convergence meetings of all departments, Distributed land pass books, mamta kits etc. Sports activities, cultural events, Nash Mukht pledge, plantation and cleanliness drives were also held among other activities.

Mission Director, J&K Livelihood Mission, Indu Kanwal Chib, the visiting officer Panchayat Mand West, interacted with PRIs and the general public. The PRIs of the area projected several demands and highlighted their problems. The MD also participated in a plantation drive and planted a tree sapling. She also distributed mamta kits among the mothers of new born girls.

A number of activities of public services were also carried out during the day. Designated administrators were accompanied by officers/officials from concerned line departments in order to ensure proper understanding and recording of grievances.
