B2V4: DC Anantnag visits Larkipora, Sadiwara Panchayat Halqas
ANANTNAG : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr Basharat Qayoom today visited Panchayat Halqa Larkipora and Sadiwara as part of the Back to Village-4 programme.
He was accompanied by SDM Dooru, ACD Anantnag and district/ sectoral heads from other line departments.
Dr Basharat took stock of the various activities being undertaken as part of the B2V4 programme. He interacted with the visiting officers and discussed the formulation of GPDP during the last two days.
He was also informed regarding the status of works taken up under the previous B2V programs. He interacted with members of the youth club and with the volunteers who have applied for financial assistance under various self-employment schemes. He met with youth who have been shortlisted under the Himayat scheme for upskilling.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the large gathering of public speaks about the effectiveness of the program. He said that the present phase of B2V shall be instrumental in filling critical gaps in various development indicators as may be identified during the programme.
He emphasized that focus of the programme is on youth, on ensuring they have opportunities for sustainable livelihood and upgrading their skill set so that they can find employment in open markets. He said that various welfare measures have achieved saturation in the district and any genuine beneficiary, if left out, will be covered in the present phase of B2V.
The DC distributed sanction letters among various youth who were present on the occasion, wheelchairs and prosthetic aid among beneficiaries and interacted with locals.
At both venues, PRIs, representatives from line departments, CSC operators and members of the civil society were present.
