Back to Village day 6: Visiting officers conduct scheduled activities; inspect ongoing dev works in Udhampur district
UDHAMPUR : Mission Director, J&K Rural Livelihood Mission, Indu Kanwal Chib, who is also visiting officer of Mand West panchayat held public interaction at Mand as the flagship ‘Back to the Village’ 4th-edition entered sixth day today.
The Mission Director said that the main purpose of this programme was to assess the impact of government schemes on the ground. She informed the participants that the focus of the campaign was on energizing Panchayat, collecting feedback on the delivery of government programmes, capturing specific economic potential and undertaking assessment of needs of the villages. She stressed upon the unemployed youth of the area to explore the employment opportunity in the Agriculture sector which has high potential.
The Mission Director also undertook extensive assessment of public services and public infrastructure. She called upon the officers to make their sincere and dedicated efforts to make the general public aware about different Central and UT sponsored schemes tailored for the uplift of rural population. The Mission Director also participated in the plogging drive organized under the Back to Village programme .
During the day, scheduled activities were conducted by the visiting officers including cleanliness and plantation drives, Public hearings , inaugurations and inspections of stalls for general awareness.
The Visiting officers held meetings with senior citizens, conducted gram/ Mahila & Bal sabhas, hold meetings of BMC committee, sensitised the public regarding My Scheme, e-Unnat app, Jan -Bhagidari app, RAS, e-Kitab kosh app and Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign.
