Bahrain: Vice Chancellor attends Sir Syed Day celebrations

Aligarh: “Teaching, research and learning at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is done with holistic approach in accordance with Sir Syed’s vision,” said AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor during the Sir Syed Day Celebrations at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Bahrain on November 7, 2019.

Attending the function organised by the AMU Alumni Association Bahrain, Prof Mansoor added that the University not only focuses on education, but develops leadership, teamwork, perseverance, determination, flexibility, confidence and self -belief in students.

The Vice Chancellor said that even though the reputed international and national rankings point out that the AMU is progressing well, the AMU community should not be complacent as there is a need to keep striving to scale new heights in researches, pedagogy and extra curricular accomplishments.

He shared with the gathering about new courses and colleges soon to start at the University including College of Nursing, Paramedical College and Institute of Pharmacy.

Prof Mansoor also spoke on various programmes such as symposia, seminars and literary and cultural activities lined up for the centenary celebrations.

He appreciated the role of all alumni groups in general and AMU Alumni Association Bahrain in particular for generously supporting development projects in the University.

The Vice Chancellor later distributed prizes to children who participated in various competitions to mark the Sir Syed Day.

Prof Mansoor Ahmed Hasan Husain Al Aali, President, Ahlia University, Kingdom of Bahrain and renowned AMU alumnus, Mr Azizurrab, GM, Abdulla Hashim Company also spoke on the occasion.

Eminent figures from Bahrain such as Sheikh Mohammad Bin Ishaq, Sheikh Ishaaq Rashed Al Kooheji and Prof Abdulla Yusuf Abdul Wahab Al Hawaj, Founding Director and Chairman Ahlia University also attended the celebrations.
