Bakkal Cultural, craft Mela at Bhomag attracts huge rush of visitors

 

REASI : The maiden Bakkal Cultural and craft Mela 2022 organised today by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, in collaboration with District Administration Reasi, here at Bhomag attracted a huge rush of visitors.

District Development Council Chairperson, Reasi Saraf Singh Nag was the chief guest, who formally inaugurated the Mela in the presence of Deputy Commissioner, Reasi Babila Rakwal.

On the inaugural day of Cultural and craft Bakkal Mela, the programmes inter alia included Cultural events depicting local folk songs & dances were presented by artists of J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.

Different government departments also exhibited their departmental stalls on the occasion.

The DDC Chairperson appreciated all the artists and local organisers associated with the mela for their collaborative effort to make the event a grand success.

He added that the Bakkal Mela shall help in promoting the Bhomag and other adjoining tourist destinations in JK UT.

The DC Reasi also spoke on the occasion and emphasized that the main motive behind organising the festival was to promote the rich cultural heritage and make the younger generation part of it and to carry it forward for future generations, besides to provide youth a platform to display and showcase their talent.

ADDC Jyoti Slathia, Additional Secretary J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Sanjeev Rana, BDC Bhomag, Ashok Thakur, DDC Pouni, Reeta Sharma, Tehsildar Bhomag, Suresh Singh along with other district officers were also present on the occasion.
