Bandaru Dattatreya, Governor of Haryana address the participants of the Public Policy Programme
Mohali : Shri Bandaru Dattatreya, Hon’ble Governor of Haryana, formally inaugurated the ISB’s Advanced Management Programme in Public Policy (AMPPP) 2022-2023 batch at ISB’s Mohali campus. The Hon’ble Governor called on the participants to promote inclusive growth in the country, always be connected to the people, and address their concerns. The current AMPPP batch has over 30 mid and senior-level private and government officials. The batch includes officials from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS), Indian Railways Service (IRS), and Punjab State Civil Service, besides professionals from private organisations.
Shri Dattatreya underlined that in the current fast-evolving and disruptive world, the focus of the civil servants should be more on evidence-based policymaking, and officials should constantly re-think governance in public policy. He also highlighted that the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) and the Capacity Building Commission (CBC) are doing the right thing by partnering with ISB to get the required training on managing public policy in the country.
Professor Ashwini Chhatre, Executive Director – Bharti Institute of Public Policy at ISB, said, “We are honoured to have Shri Bandaru Dattatreya as our chief guest for the inaugural session. In a short time, AMPPP has emerged as one of the country’s sought-after training programmes for public policy practitioners. It is inspiring to witness extensive participation of the private sector in AMPPP. We are happy to continue imparting quality education through this programme.”
Earlier keeping up with ISB’s tradition, the Hon’ble Governor planted a sapling at the campus and visited the ISB’s history wall documenting milestones of the school.
The Advanced Management Programme in Public Policy (AMPPP) is the flagship programme of ISB’s Bharti Institute of Public Policy and is designed to address the needs of mid-career and senior-level professionals with at least five years of experience. The course aims to refine the depth and width of public policy wisdom through three-fold interactions with faculty experts, diverse groups of peers, and policymakers, practitioners from India and abroad.
