Bandipora Adm. organises one-day workshop for effective implementation of Mission Youth

 

BANDIPORA : The District Administration Bandipora on Monday organised a day-long workshop at Mini-Secretariat Bandipora for effective implementation of Mission Youth.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad was the chief guest on the occasion while Additional District Development Commissioner Ali Afsar Khan, Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, District Information Officer Jahangeer Akhoon, OSD Mission Youth Dr Murtaza, BDOs and Assistant Director Employment were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said under Mission Youth, government aims at engaging the youth positively making them stakeholders in the development of J&K and to win over the hearts and minds of the youth through affirmative action.

Experts while interacting with the audience gave a detailed power point presentation discussing the aims and objectives of the Mission Youth besides highlighting the proposed initiatives to be taken in different sectors including employment, career counseling, youth engagement, entrepreneurship development, sports and recreation.

Resource persons said several initiatives have been taken by the government under Mission Youth including systematic Assistance- Soft Loans and Other Systematic Assistance for Sustainable Employment, Education and Skill Development including Training/Coaching/ Scholarship, Psycho-Social Counseling & Rehabilitation-De-radicalization/De-addiction/ Rehabilitation besides exploring and Grooming of Sports Talent/ Establishment of Coaching Facilities/ Sports Leagues.

The DC while speaking on the occasion said the district administration has already constituted a District Level Task Force (DLTF) for effective implementation and monitoring of Mission Youth Initiatives in the district. He said the DLTF has been mandated to come up with complete road map for effective implementation of the programme and shall work out the modalities for implementation of Youth Mission initiatives.

He said the administration is working on various proposals under Mission Youth including proposal for conduct of civil service coaching, construction of Youth Facilitation Center and completion of auditorium, establishment of Career Counseling Cell , DPRs/ proposals of 8 tourist villages, establishment of smart classes and provisions of tabs/laptops for tribal areas, provision of sports material for tribal areas and other sports activities in the district, cultural events, youth engagement programmes, establishment of dairy units in tribal areas, promotion of tourist trekking programme and other activities, formulation of youth clubs, establishment of library at HSS Dawar, establishment of demand based skill centres.

He said these projects proposed by the district administration under Mission Youth will help in uplifting the socio-economic conditions of the people besides providing platform to the youth for education and employment.
