BANGLADESH SITUATION: BHU TO ALLOW PASS OUT BANGLADESHI STUDENTS TO CONTINUE HOSTEL STAY

  • THOSE WHO HAVE COMPLETED THEIR COURSE AND ARE STAYING IN HOSTELS WON’T BE CHARGED ANY FEE, OTHERWISE REQUIRED TO PAY GUEST CHARGES
  • SUCH STUDENTS WILL BE ALLOWED TO STAY ON CAMPUS TILL SITUATION NORMALIZES IN BANGLADESH

VARANASI : While considering the ongoing situation in Bangladesh, Banaras Hindu University has decided to allow Bangladeshi passout students staying on campus to continue in hostels till the situation normalizes in that country. The decision has been taken in the interest of students who have completed their studies in the university and were to vacate hostels as mandated on the completion of the program. Prof. S. V. S. Raju, Coordinator, International Centre, informed that keeping in view the challenges Bangladeshi students could face while returning to their home country, the university has decided that those students who wish to continue their stay in university hostels, will be allowed to do so and extend all possible help to them. They will not be required to pay any charges for that as well. Prof. Raju said, “We have assured the students that in case they face any other difficulty during their stay on campus, the university will take necessary measures to address that.” They may stay here till the situation normalizes in Bangladesh, he added.

Every year, Banaras Hindu University enrolls hundreds of international students in various programs. A large number of these students come from Bangladesh. Many of these students stay in university hostels on the campus.
