Each category is measured against its own set of metrics, broadly based on four key criteria – Research, Outreach, Stewardship and Teaching – with each institution’s top three SDGs then used to determine the overall Impact Ranking. [Methodology]
The newest ranking is Brunel’s highest since 2019 (when it was 40th out of 450 institutions) and is a marked improvement on 2021, when it slipped out of the top 100 for the first time.
Prof Andrew Jones, Vice Chancellor and President at Brunel University London, said: “Brunel has a long history of conducting research that leads to meaningful real-world impact, and I think we can all take immense pride that the work we do here is improving lives and environments all around the world.
“The last couple of years have been tough, so it is a real tribute to everyone’s hard work and focus that, despite the challenges, we’ve been recognised again as one of the world’s most impactful universities.”
