Basketball legend – Rashard Lewis to hold master class at Kharghar school on Monday

 

Navi Mumbai: Former American NBA legendary Professional Basketball player – Rashard Quovon Lewis will hold a master class for 30 students of Ryan Global School on Monday morning January 28.

The legend will arrive at the school ground at 10:30am and hold a clinic for 45 minutes with select 30 kids while other kids will surround the court, followed by an interactive session.

Born on August 8, 1979, the legendary basketball player Rashard Lewis rose to prominence in the NBA as a scorer with the Seattle SuperSonics, and was later a member of the Orlando Magic, Washington Wizards and Miami Heat. He had garnered two NBA All-star selections, one with Seattle and another with Orlando.

“We have always advocated towards building the element of team spirit in our students using sports activity as a tool. The proposed master class by the legendary Rashard Lewis will no doubt add to the confidence of our students and help them achieve global recognition as some of our other students like Chirag Shetty – Commonwealth Gold Medalist, Simran Singhi, an International Badminton Player, Karman Thandi, an International Tennis Player,” said Madam Grace Pinto, Managing Director, Ryan Group of Institutions.

As part of inculcating the spirit of sports in students, Ryan Group of Institutions has been holding Minithon at 12 locations across the country every year. So far it has held over 160 minithons with over 1 lakh students participating in it annually.
