BCCI Takes Bold Step to Curb Air Pollution: Bans Fireworks at World Cup Matches in Delhi and Mumbai

Board of Cricket Council of India (#BCCI) has put a ban on the use of fireworks during remaining #WorldCup matches in #Delhi and Mumbai over deteriorating Air Quality Index (#AQI) in these two cities.

BCCI is sensitive to environmental concerns. I took up matter formally with #ICC and there won’t be any fireworks display in Mumbai, which can add to pollution level. The Board is committed to combating environmental issues and will always place interest of our fans and stakeholders at forefront,” said BCCI secretary #JayShah in a media statement.
