Bengaluru: In a bid to create awareness on the growing cases of Diabetes in the country, Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialties Centre today hosted a cyclothon at Indira Nagar, Bengaluru. The event was organized as part of the World Diabetes Day 2019 awareness campaign and saw over 100 people from all age groups participate enthusiastically. Research has shown a direct correlation between exercise and diabetes. People who exercise regularly have a greater chance of better managing the disease or reducing the risk of Diabetes. The event was flagged off by Dr Ranjan Shetty HOD – Department of Cardiology Manipal Hospitals . Participants cycled from KFC Signal,100 ft road to Doopanahalli Bus Stand near Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialties Centre Indiranagar with a stretch covering a distance of 1.7 kms. Dr. Chaithanya Murthy , Senior Diabetologist , Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre organised the cyclothon .The cyclothon also sported participants creating awareness on the effects of exercise and fitness as well as on Diabetes amongst the general public.
