Bengaluru-based SaPa, a global leader in music education celebrated the 41st World Music Day with new initiatives with a focus on “Music for all, Music for a Cause”

Bengaluru: Bengaluru-based Subramaniam Academy of Performing Arts (SaPa), a renowned leader in music education, celebrated World Music Day with a special focus on “Music for all, Music for a Cause.” The Academy unveiled an exciting new foundational Program called ‘An Introduction to Music’.  It also hosted captivating live music performances serving social causes, at various locations in the city.

The comprehensive foundational Program offers a unique exploration of the finest global music, culture, and arts, further enriching SaPa’s commitment to providing a diverse and holistic music education experience.  This course aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of global music traditions, cultural nuances, and artistic expressions, allowing students to appreciate and connect with diverse musical genres.  It is designed to take students of all age groups on a remarkable journey into the world of music.

SaPa’s dedication to making high-quality music, culture, and art accessible to all is exemplified by the introduction of this new Program. By combining the joyous celebrations of World Music Day with the launch of ‘An Introduction to Music,’ SaPa continues to pave the way for a vibrant and inclusive music education ecosystem. The Academy’s commitment to fostering collaboration, artistic expression, and cultural appreciation ensures that students not only develop their musical skills but also gain a deeper understanding of the transformative power of music in society.

The World Music Day festivities also included talented teachers and students of SaPa captivating audiences with a delightful blend of Carnatic and Western music. The performances took place at Senior Citizens’ Homes, Homes for Elderly Women, and a Cancer Care Hospital, spreading the joy of music to residents and creating a positive impact through the power of melodies.

SaPa’s renowned live performances at various locations on World Music Day showcased the exceptional talent of its musicians. The harmonious blend of Carnatic and Western music resonated with the audiences, inspiring a sense of joy, unity, and appreciation for the universal language of music.  The Academy will continue to organize such performances for social causes in other cities across India as well.

Commenting on the occasion, Bindu Subramaniam, the Dean of SaPa and CEO and Co-Founder of ‘SaPa in Schools,’ expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “As every year, this World Music Day is celebrated with immense enthusiasm and joy at our Academy. SaPa works in several different ways to impart music education that include SaPa Centres of Excellence, SaPa in Schools (SiS), SaPa Outreach, and Higher Education in Music.  SaPa currently works with over 30,000 children, and in addition to teaching, the organization has its own curriculum, methodology, teacher training, and certification.
