The new centre, which is located in Basavanagudi, marks a significant milestone in SaPa’s mission to deliver quality music lessons to a wider audience and build the next generation of qualified musicians. Classes have started from the 2nd of September at this new centre.
The Basavanagudi Centre is well-equipped to offer courses in Carnatic Vocal, Carnatic Violin, Mridangam, Hindustani Vocal, Hindustani Tabla, Western Vocal, Western Piano, Western Guitar, and Bharatanatyam as well, for all age groups. A program for parents and their toddlers which involves music, activities, and ‘fun bonding’ exercises will also be taught here. This development reflects SaPa’s commitment to spreading the magic of music across diverse communities, which it does by combining traditional and modern teaching methods. During the launch, SaPa opened its door to students and parents to stop by and observe how SaPa operates and how the courses are taught in addition to organising engaging activities for all visitors.
Speaking about the launch, Bindu Subramaniam, the CEO and Co-founder of SaPa said, “The growing demand for quality music education is an indication of how music holds a profound significance in our lives. We are delighted to announce the launch of our 4th Centre in the country, and we hope to empower more children with skills that will help in holistic development. Our centres will continue to enrich more lives through music lessons with a learner-centric curriculum and expert faculty delivering the best learning experiences.”
By offering quality music education to all, SaPa Centres of Excellence promote creativity, provide the opportunity to exchange cultural knowledge, nurture global citizens and prepare individuals to flourish in an interconnected world.
In addition to SaPa Centres of Excellence, SaPa works in several different ways to deliver music education, including SaPa in Schools, SaPa Outreach, and Higher Education in Music. The organization currently works with over 30,000 children, and in addition to teaching, the organization has its own curriculum, methodology, teacher training, and certification. Everything at SaPa, right from its in-house developed curriculum to its stuffed toy tamburas and baby Dikshitar illustrations for the younger learners, revolves around making music enjoyable. The Academy’s goal is to ensure that music is an integral part of the student’s day and that they have fun while growing into professional musicians.
A legacy of excellence in music education and its commitment to delivering quality music education to all will remain the guiding principles of the SaPa as it embarks on the exciting journey of launching more centres in South India.
