Bengaluru Doctor Conferred The Doctor Of Science D.Sc (Honoris Causa) By Saveetha University Chennai (SIMATS)

Bengaluru: Dr CV Harinarayan, Director – Diabetes & Endocrinology, Sakra World Hospital, has been awarded ‘The Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) by SaveethaUniversity (SIMATS) for his outstanding excellence in the field of Medical Health Care and also for his significant contribution to society through his medical profession. Prof. Dr. CVHarinarayan was previously honored with the prestigious Dr. BC Roy National Award in the year 2016, for his remarkable achievement in the field of endocrinology and metabolic bone diseases.Dr. CV Harinarayan, who completed his super specialization in DM (Endocrinology) at AIIMS, New Delhi, moved further to become the Founder & Head Professor of Endocrinology at SVIMS, Tirupati. During this tenure, he carried out his research work on Vitamin D and he was the first to document Vitamin D deficiency and Calcium deficiency through population studies in Andhra Pradesh. This research work was recognized nationwide and was translated into NationalHealth Programs to address this concurrent problem of Vitamin D and dietary calcium deficiency in India. He is also acclaimed as the first endocrinologist from India to be recognized by various scientific societies from UK and USA. He has received numerous awards and accolades for his exceptional contribution in the field of endocrinology namely, Hari Om Ashram Alembic Research Award for Operational Research, the Basanti Devi Amir Chand Prize by ICMR, Fellow National Academy of Medical Sciences from NASM, Sri Shriram Memorial Award by NAMS and had been accoladed with APSA – 2006 by Andhra Pradesh Council of Science and Technology for excellence in Medical Research to name a few.
