Best Research Paper in Comparative Science
Within the framework of the II National Scientific and Practical Conference with international participation “Comparative Studies at the Present Stage: Theory and Practice” the Department of German Philology and Scandinavian Studies held a competition “The Best Research Work in Comparative Studies”.
The criteria for assessment were: the relevance of the topic, its independent comprehension, the creativity of the approach to it, its good representation.
The jury selected the work of Anastasia Amelina, a 1-year master student of the Comparative Studies: Dialogue of Cultures in World Literature of the Institute of Philology (scientific supervisor Svetlana Vladimirovna Vasilyeva, Candidate of Philosophy, Associate Professor, Department of German Philology and Scandinavian Studies, PetrSU), “The embodiment of the idea of multiculturalism in Russia and Germany at the present stage.”
The paper provides definitions of the concept of “multiculturalism”, a brief historical overview of the appearance of the term, the preconditions for its occurrence, as well as a comparative analysis of the policy of multiculturalism in Germany and Russia, highlighting its advantages and disadvantages. Based on the monitoring of public opinion and the work of modern scientists, the relevance of the study and the prospects for further study of this topic have been proved.
