Betti Bachao Betti Padhao campaign held at RS Pura

Jammu: An awareness programme on Betti Bachao Betti Padhao campaign was today organized here at Panchyat Ghar, Sai Khurd by ICDS project RS pura.

S. Taranjit Singh Gujral, DDC member, Suchetgarh, was the chief guest. Besides, Sarpanch Sarabjeet Singh, Panches, CDPO ICDS project R.S.Pura, Neeraj Bhargav, his Staff, AWWs, AWHs and locals were also present.

The event unfolded with Pledge taking on BBBP. Cultural Performances included awareness on Female Foeticide by the medium of skit performed by AWWs, while distribution of baby kits among the beneficiaries of AWCs, Signature Campaign on BBBP formed other activities. One of the AWW, Kamlesh Devi, was also felicitated for her exemplary work done during covid-19.

Speaking on the occasion CDPO R.S.Pura highlighted the contribution of women in Economic Sphere with regard to Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 2030 set by United Nation. He further stressed upon the role women can play in making India a developed nation.

The DDC member also stressed upon women empowerment by citing examples from religious scriptures. He also described the women as the architects of the society and should be highly revered.

At the conclusion of the event, a rally was taken out from Panchyat Ghar wherein everyone participated with great enthusiasm.
