Bharat Bhavan’s 38th Anniversary Celebrations Function from February 13 to 23

Bhopal : The Minister for Culture Dr. Vijayalaxmi Sadho will inaugurate 11- day long 38th Anniversary Celebrations Function of Bharat Bhavan on February 13. International ceramic and Gond art exhibition, films and plays besides presentations focusing vocal, musical instrument playing, folk music, dances, story- telling will be organized during the event.

The event will begin with the International Ceramic Art Exhibition at 6.00 p.m. on February 13. The same evening, exhibition of Sushri Durga Bai’s paintings will be inaugurated. Vocal presentation of Pt. Rajan, Sajan Mishra will also take place. On the second day, February 14, duet presentation of Pandit Tejendra Narayan (Sarod) and Pandit Purnayan Chatterjee (Sitar) will be held. Similarly, on February 15, programme will begin at 2 p.m. with the screening of the film Mughl-e-Azam. The Vihan drama works will present musical drama and multilingual story-telling will take place. On the fourth day, film Pakiza will be screened on February 16 at 2 p.m. On the same evening, a multilingual poetry will be held. On the fifth day i.e. February 17, film Kalapani will be exhibited, followed by the vocal performance of Sushri Tripti Nagar and Sushri Saumya, Phalguni and folk singing by Hemant Chauhan.

On the 6th Day of the event i.e. February 18, film ‘Junoon’ will be exhibited followed by vocal presentation of Sushri Manimala Singh and Kathak dance drama by Sushri V. Anuradha Singh and Kathak group performance under the direction of Sushri Kumkum Dhar. On the seventh day, February 19, film ‘Parichay’ will be exhibited followed by Saitam Dance performance of Sushri Sharda with fellow artists and Shramdhol dance by Durgesh Bhalavi with fellow artists will be performed. The same evening, Malvi, Nimadi and Bundeli folk songs will be presented. On the eighth day, February 20, drama Agni and Barkha will be staged. On the ninth day, February 21, Drama ‘Main Rahi Masoom’ will be staged. The tenth and eleventh day of the event, plays will be staged.

Entry fee of Rs. 50 will be charged for plays to be staged at Bharat Bhavan. The entry is free in the remaining programmes.
