Launch of the ‘Skill on Wheels’ awareness campaign and skill development van
Muzaffarnagar: To promote skill development among the youth in western Uttar Pradesh, a grand event was held at the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Badhai Kalan, Muzaffarnagar. The event was graced by the presence of Union Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Jayant Chaudhary, as the chief guest.
During the occasion, the Minister inaugurated several key initiatives for the youth of western Uttar Pradesh. He inaugurated the Government ITI Badhai Kalan and also opened the state-of-the-art Chaudhary Ajit Singh Memorial Library. Additionally, the Chaudhary Charan Singh Memorial International Placement Centre was established at the institution. Further, a ‘Skill on Wheels’ campaign was launched, aimed at raising awareness about the importance of skill development. The skill development van will travel across the region, encouraging young people to upskill themselves, thereby enhancing their employment opportunities. In a move towards environmental sustainability, 5,000 trees are being planted in and around the institution’s premises.
At the commencement of the programme, AVPL International’s Founder and Chairman, Deep Sihag Sisaye, welcomed the Union Minister, Jayant Chaudhary, and expressed his gratitude for the minister’s efforts in dedicating the Government ITI Badhai Kalan to the youth of western Uttar Pradesh. In her welcome speech, AVPL International’s Co-founder and Managing Director, Preet Sandhu, expressed her delight, stating, “I am immensely proud to witness the inauguration of this institution. This facility will provide training to 760 students annually, including the training of 96 drone pilots and 96 drone technicians, who will assist in agricultural spraying across 100 villages, conserving water over 2 lakh hectares of farmland while strengthening their economic prospects.” She added that this centre would play a pivotal role in the field of skill development, not just in Muzaffarnagar but across Uttar Pradesh and India. With dedicated faculty and modern training infrastructure, Government ITI Badhai Kalan is set to shape the future of its students and contribute significantly to the overall development of the region.
It is notable that the Government ITI Badhai Kalan is operated under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model between the Government of Uttar Pradesh and AVPL International. This institute will serve as a milestone in securing a brighter future for the youth of western Uttar Pradesh, offering enhanced opportunities for employment abroad.
Addressing the gathering, Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary emphasised the importance of boosting students’ technical skills in today’s era. He remarked, “The key need of the hour is to equip our young generation with advanced skills. Only when our youth are technically capable will the nation achieve greater heights of development.” He highlighted the government’s focus on modern technology-driven programmes and training schemes aimed at empowering students to play a crucial role in nation-building. He added, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision is to empower and enable our youth with skills so they can face future challenges and help India become a leader on the global stage. Today, I dedicate these initiatives to our young citizens, who will contribute significantly to the nation with their hard work and dedication.” The Minister also expressed his appreciation for AVPL and NSDC’s successful collaboration in organising the event, adding that this partnership would be instrumental in skill development and the nation’s progress towards self-reliance.
Special guest, Kapil Aggarwal, Cabinet Minister for Skill Development, Uttar Pradesh, shared his thoughts, stating that students graduating from this institute would have job opportunities in 10 countries listed by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC International), including Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates. He stressed that equipping our youth with modern technologies and up-to-date knowledge is important for meeting future challenges and contributing to a self-reliant India. Minister Aggarwal also reiterated the Uttar Pradesh government’s commitment to promoting skill development and technical education to create better employment opportunities for the youth.
Anil Kumar, Minister of Technical Education, Uttar Pradesh, was also present during the event, who shared his views. Other dignitaries included Sandeep Baghiya, Chief Development Officer, Muzaffarnagar; Ajay Rana, COO of NSDC; Sanjeeva Singh from NSDC; Nikita Sharma, Sub-Divisional Officer, Muzaffarnagar; Gaurav Chaudhary, MLA; Rajpal Balyan, leader of the legislative assembly; Som Datt Sharma, Principal of Government ITI Badhai Kalan; and several other notable figures.
