New Delhi: Bhartiya Skill Development University is not only promoting skill development by way of providing a model ecosystem for skill development in Rajasthan but also reaching out to the most talented and eligible students by way of conducting “Talent Search Exam” which was conducted in four different phases. These exams were conducted by BSDU in association with Vidya Bharti. With an aim to assess the aptitude and skill of students, talent search exam was conducted in 75 different schools of Rajasthan where nearly 3,000 students participated. BSDU felicitated 72 meritorious students with cash prizes. Apart from this, BSDU offered a preferred status to these students by offering them a waiver of admission test. This means that these students will be eligible for direct admissions in BSDU without having to undergo admission tests.
Dr. (Brig.) Surjit Singh Pabla, Vice Chancellor, Bhartiya Skill Development University said, “We are taking forward the skill development initiative of Dr. Rajendra Kumar Joshi to invest and promote talents of Rajasthan. Our students are not only getting placed in good companies but they are recognized at international levels through competitions like IndiaSkills and WorldSkills. These meritorious students will be given an opportunity to come join BSDU without having to undergo admission test and get themselves trained in skill courses of their interests and make their careers.”
Bhartiya Skill Development University is the brainchild of Dr. Rajendra Kumar Joshi and Mrs. Ursula Joshi who are committed towards developing a positive skill development ecosystem in Rajasthan. BSDU has recently signed a MoU to help strengthen skill landscape of Jharkhand state by replicating BSDU’s model of skill development. The university has signed over 50 MoUs with Universities, institutes and corporates to promote skill development in the country. Bhartiya Skill Development University’s main aim is to establish a platform that replicates its model in other institutes and universities across the nation. The University has a unique model of 6 months of theoretical classes and 6 months of industry training giving students an exposure and an opportunity to be placed in the very first semester.
The University also offers easy entry and exit points where the student is offered ease to accept a job offer in case they are placed in the first semester.
According to report of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship more than 1 million people join workforce in India every month but less than 5% have received any formal skill training so there is huge skill gap which needs to be addressed.
