BHIS Launches Center of Excellence Initiative for Student’s enrichment

 

Mumbai : One of India’s leading school networks Billabong High International School (BHIS) has launched ‘Center of Excellence, a noble initiative for students’ enrichment. Under this ambitious initiative, the school has designed programs that are tailored to build specific skills comparable to the best in the world using globally proven learning models and also delivered by domain experts.

 

The main objective of this initiative is to provide Billabongers with the opportunity to multiply their ingenuity with specialized programs that make them future ready. It will give students exposure to the best academic and non-academic professional programs on par with global standards, besides catalysing learning and enhancing their hidden talents and skills. The school has joined hands with world class institutions such as Dale Carnegie, Trinity College London, Cambridge English Assessments (Test Center), Torrins, USA, National Stock Exchange Academy, Pro Grad Junior, LogIQids, Bloom & Grow, Model United Nations (Preparatory Center) among several others, to provide professions courses to their students.

 

Students will have the opportunity to take up professional programs during afterschool hours. Billabong High International School believes that today more than ever, students need to acquire competencies required for their future, irrespective of the career path they opt for themselves. For this, they will be made aware of the Institutional Philosophy and Ethics in Entrepreneurship. Also, special attention will be given to visionary talents taking a special interest in innovation. Under which such children will be taught to do unprecedented and unique work through professional programs which no school has ever done before.

 

The Center of Excellence (CoE) will benefit all the students from Grade 1 to Grade 12. Under this initiative, high-quality skill and competency development programs will be offered through a single virtual platform at an affordable price of Rs.1000- 1,500 per month.

 

Under this initiative, programs have been designed to meet the skill requirements of the students in an age-appropriate fashion.

The grade-wise programmes are as follows:

 

a. Grades 1 to 4: Music, Arts and Crafts, Block Coding and Communication

 

 

b. Grades 5 to 8: Financial Awareness, Logic & Critical Thinking, WebApp Development, Python, Artificial Intelligence and Leadership Skills

 

 

c. Grades 9 to 12: Young Entrepreneurship Lab, Art & Craft, Model United Nations and NCFM by NSE Academy

The programs will be conducted twice a week for 60 minutes and the total duration of each course will be 6 months. This initiative is a landmark step towards providing skill-based and competency-based excellence in non-scholastic programs in this current competitive world.

 

Under this initiative, various programs will be offered to the students of grade 1 to grade 12 according to their interest and convenience through the school by world-renowned institutions in which the number of courses and programs will be offered to them.

Students can choose the program according to their interests. On the completion of the course, students will receive certificates from those institutions.

 

Courses beginning for children in Grades 1 – Grade 4 will be offered by Bloom & Grow, ProGrade Junior and Cambridge. Skill-based courses will be offered for the students of Grade 5 to Grade 8 which will prove to be effective in keeping the students ready for the future at all times. For this, Dale Carnegie to impart leadership skills, NSE Academy for Financial Awareness, LogIQids IIT Bombay Techfest will enhance the Logic and critical thinking skills of students. As children graduate from higher grades i.e. Grade 9 to Grade 12, they will have the option of taking courses like Financial Markets certification by NSE Academy, Bloom and Grow for Art and Craft and Model United Nations Preparatory Center to create global awareness.
